Current term ends June 2025

Janet Herrin was appointed to the Energy Northwest Executive Board in April 2021.  She worked in public power for over 40 years for organizations in which nuclear power played an integral role in serving their customers.  As the Tennessee Valley Authority expert on dam safety, water and hydro-related matters, Janet worked closely with TVA's nuclear organization to ensure that TVA's dams met ever-changing nuclear regulations for safely passing the probable maximum flood.  As TVA's Chief Administrative Officer, she was a member of the executive team that debated tactical as well as long-term strategic operational and financial issues impacting all generation assets (hydro, coal, natural gas, nuclear, and renewables) and transmission assets.

As the Bonneville Power Administration Chief Operating Officer, she had direct responsibility for the Energy Northwest and Columbia Generating Station relationship.  She effectively worked with BPA's federal partners, including EN, to drive efficiencies and savings in operations, maintenance and capital spending.  Janet also championed a review of the Columbia Generating Station decommissioning governance and fund.

Janet is a registered professional engineer (retired) in Tennessee and holds master's degrees in business administration from the University of Tennessee and in civil engineering from Colorado State University.  She also holds a bachelor's degree in mathematics and physics from Willamette University in Salem, Oregon.

Executive Board Member since 2021
