Debbie Oakes was elected in 2019 to represent Pacific PUD district #2, on the Long Beach peninsula, located at the mouth of the Columbia River & Pacific Ocean. Married to John for 46 years and has 2 grown children & 3 grandchildren.
They were business owners in the commercial fishing business for over 45 years. Over the years they brought several fishing vessels through the Panama Canal, that then fished the entire West Coast, from California to Alaska. After retiring, they now have a small cranberry farm next to where they reside, and with their kids, are involved in several hospitality businesses located on the Washington & Oregon coast.
