Clint Whitney became the City of Richland’s Energy Services Director in April 2018 and was also appointed to the Energy Northwest Board of Directors at that time. Mr. Whitney has worked in public service for 21 years in a variety of electrical engineering, operations and management positions. He started at that city as an electrical distribution engineer II and prior to that, worked for five years with electrical utilities at the Hanford site. In the late 80s, Mr. Whitney was a summer engineering intern at Energy Northwest where as they say, “it all began.”

Mr. Whitney has a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering (’91) and a Master in Business Administration degree (’18) from Washington State University. He is a licensed professional engineer in Washington, executive committee member for Public Power Council and Director for Northwest Requirements Utilities.

He and his wife Jennifer have been married for 31 years and have two adult sons. They welcomed their first grandchild, a girl, in October 2018 and travel to Spokane, Wash. to visit as often as possible.
