Bill Gordon became
a Franklin Public Utility District commissioner in January 2003. He was
appointed to the Energy Northwest Board of Directors in January 2004 and
elected assistant secretary in January 2007, a position he held through January
2011. He also served as the board secretary from January 2011 through January
2017; and served on the executive board from April 2006 to June 2010. Gordon was elected to the Executive Board in 2023 and currently serves as Secretary.
He was also appointed to the Board of Trustees for Columbia Basin College in October 2013 by Gov. Jay Inslee.
Gordon brings a rich business background to his work. He holds a bachelor’s degree in hotel and restaurant administration from Washington State University and has worked in hotels throughout the United States, as well as in Munich and Johannesburg. He and his father also farmed together for five years in St. John, Wash.
Gordon moved to Franklin County in 1980, where he and his brother planted a vineyard along the Snake River, near Levy Park. Now retired, he is a former partner in Gordon Brothers Winery and Gordon Brothers Inc. Commissioner Gordon lives in Pasco with his wife Laura.
