Mike Paoli is an expert in crisis communication response and training, and nuclear energy education. He entered the energy industry after retiring in 2009 from the Air Force, where he served as an air station commander and chief of the Air Force Press Desk. He provided on-scene counsel and news media response following the Secretary Ron Brown aircraft crash, the Khobar Towers terrorist attack, the Cavalese Marine jet/ski gondola crash, two aircraft accidents and numerous other incidents on Okinawa, resignations of the Air Force Secretary and Chief of Staff, and several nuclear security events. He directed media reception for three overseas presidential visits, and his team helped staff New York City’s emergency management center after 9/11.

Mike holds an undergraduate degree in English, and graduate degrees in Human Relations and Military Operational Art & Science. He is a graduate of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology’s Reactor Course for Utility Executives, the University of Idaho’s Utility Executive Course, Air War College, the Center for Executive Education’s (DOD) Strategic Communication Course, and EPA’s Environmental Communication Course. As an Air Force Fellow he studied under Hill & Knowlton’s crisis expert Dick Hyde, and counts public relations founding father Chet Burger among his mentors.

Jason is the Director of Government Affairs and Member Relations at Energy Northwest. His responsibilities include managing the agency’s state and federal legislative engagement and communicating with member utilities, trade associations and key stakeholders. Jason navigates complex policy matters and works with policymakers to advance agency priorities. Prior to joining EN, Jason spent a decade working in the U.S. House of Representatives, consulting on energy and environmental policy, and advising political campaigns. In Congress, he advised members on numerous policy issues and held several senior staff positions.

Kelly Rae is a public affairs specialist with five years of experience in strategic internal communications and project coordination. Kelly worked at Energy Northwest from 2009 to 2014 and rejoined the agency in 2018. She is a contributor to the agency’s internal communication program and supports board relations. Kelly holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in communication from Washington State University.

Ben Stewart is a Public Affairs Specialist with a background in graphic design. He has worked at Energy Northwest since 2008, focusing on internal and external communications, and video production. Prior to joining Energy Northwest, Ben worked for a magazine publishing company. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in graphic design from Central Washington University.

Carla Martinez joined Energy Northwest in May 2003 and currently holds the position of Public Affairs assistant manager. In this capacity, she is directly responsible for internal communications, creative design, videography and social media in addition to overall Public Affairs management support.

Prior to assuming her current position, Carla served as EN’s Compliance and Concerns Program manager, Human Resources manager, and Boards & Marketing manager. Additionally, she represented Columbia Generating Station as the management council representative to Utilities Service Alliance.

Prior to joining Energy Northwest, Carla worked in various hospital administration positions.

She is a past board member of the National Association of Employee Concerns Professionals and Women Helping Women-Tri Cities.

Carla holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Western Washington University and a master’s degree in Organizational Leadership from Gonzaga University. Additionally, she is certified as a Senior Professional in Human Resources.

Anna Markham

Anna Markham is a senior Public Affairs analyst at Energy Northwest. She is primarily responsible for the agency’s employee communication program.

Anna served nearly eight years as a journalist in the U.S. Navy. She was an editor for the base newspaper at Naval Air Facility in Atsugi, Japan and a radio and television host for American Forces Network in La Maddalena, Italy.

She has supported internal and external communications for more than 20 years and has been involved in nuclear communications for almost 15 years.

Hilary Taylor is the Public Affairs Administrative Assistant and Tour Manager. Hilary manages the office of Public Affairs and regulatory assists and represents the manager and Public Affairs organization. As Tour Manager, Hilary coordinates all aspects of plant tours.

Hilary has a bachelors in Communication and Society from Washington State University. Go Cougs!

Cameron Kaseberg is a Public Affairs Specialist with a focus on graphic design, photography, and social media. He helps departments and organizations across the company share information, images and messaging in a clear, concise and professional manner.

He left high school early to study photography, art and pursue his degree in graphic design. Upon graduation, Cameron had already established Kaseberg Design and began working for a major tradeshow and exhibit design/build firm in Portland, Oregon. He worked as a graphic production artist and designer before moving to a national exhibit company as an exhibit designer.

With his foot always in the world of graphic design and photography, Cameron considers his position with Energy Northwest a natural progression.
