Ferry County Public Utility District
Project: Grid Access and Resiliency for Unserved Rural and Indigenous Communities
Ferry County PUD secured a $5 million U.S. Department of Energy award to improve grid reliability and deliver first-time electric service to remote rural and tribal communities. The project includes 30 miles of underground lines and upgrades to the Strassburg Substation, reducing outages and wildfire risk.
Energy Northwest’s Role: Through the Public Power Funding Program, Energy Northwest provided grant writing leadership, compliance guidance, and reporting support, helping ensure a strong, competitive application aligned with federal priorities and community needs.
