Energy Northwest maintains a comprehensive emergency response capability to ensure public health and safety in the event of an accident or incident at Columbia Generating Station. Emergency teams are on-call at all times to manage operations, ensure security, and provide public information and other needs in unusual situations.
The Joint Information Center in North Richland, Wash., is ready for immediate use at all times. One of four highly experienced JIC teams is on-call at all times to ensure our ability to communicate timely, accurate, and complete information to the public and news media in the event of an accident or incident.
The joint facility includes representatives from local, state, and federal government agencies as needed. When activated, the JIC staff provides the news media and public access to timely and accurate information.
In emergencies, the public is encouraged to listen to KONA Radio at 610 AM/105.3 FM for regular updates.
