Robert (“Bob”) A. Dutton joined Energy Northwest in October 2011. As General Counsel for Energy Northwest, he is responsible for the legal advice and counsel for all matters relating to or affecting Energy Northwest.
Prior to assuming his current position, Mr. Dutton held a number of positions at AREVA Inc. and predecessor companies for 12 years in the topical areas of long term nuclear fuel and other commercial contracts, labor and employment law, customs, litigation, merger and acquisition and regulatory compliance. Mr. Dutton also worked for a series of Westinghouse companies in a variety of positions focusing primarily on litigation (tort, environmental and employment) government contracts and claims, and was a staff attorney for the U.S. Department of Energy. Mr. Dutton started his legal career as a Captain in the U.S. Army’s Judge Advocate General’s Corp assigned to the XVIII Airborne Corps at Ft. Bragg, N.C.
Mr. Dutton holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Criminal Justice (magna cum laude) from Gonzaga University and Juris Doctorate (cum laude) also from Gonzaga University. Mr. Dutton is a member of the Washington and Idaho Bars, and has been admitted to practice before a number of courts including the U.S. Supreme Court.
