Sid Morrison was appointed to the Energy Northwest Executive Board in July 2001 by the Energy Northwest Board of Directors. He served as chair of the Energy Northwest Operations, Construction and Safety Committee from 2003 to 2006. In 2013 he was re-appointed to serve his third four-year term. In June 2006, he was elected chair of the executive board, a position he currently retains.
Mr. Morrison is a former legislator serving in the Washington State House of Representatives from 1966 to 1974, the Washington State Senate from 1974 to
1980 and the United States House of Representatives from 1980 to 1992. He was appointed as secretary of transportation by the Washington Transportation Commission in 1993 and served in that capacity until retiring from state service on June 30, 2001.
Mr. Morrison holds a bachelor’s degree in horticulture from Washington State College. He served in the Army from 1954 to 1956. He is also the chair for the board of trustees at Central Washington University and the chair for the Yakima Basin Storage Alliance.
