Michael Jones is Seattle City Light’s Power Supply and Environmental Affaris Officer. He comes to Seattle City Light from Jacksonville, Fla., where he most recently owned his own business, CEO Focus, which provided executive coaching, management consulting, and technical consulting services to non-profit and energy industry organizations. Prior to that, Michael spent 12 years with The Energy Authority in both Jacksonville and Bellevue, Wa. He began his tenure there performing risk analysis for municipal utilities and progressed through the organization in various roles in risk management, power management, and enterprise operations. Michael began his career as an Officer with the U.S. Navy stationed in Norfolk, Va.
Jones received his undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering from Ohio State University, and went on to complete his Master’s in Business Administration at the University of North Florida in Jacksonville.
Seattle City Light is the 10th largest public electric utility in the United States. It has some of the lowest cost customer rates of any urban utility, providing reliable, renewable and environmentally responsible power to nearly 1 million Seattle area residents. City Light has been greenhouse gas neutral since 2005, the first electric utility in the nation to achieve that distinction.
