Diana Thompson was elected as the Pacific County Public Utility District’s first woman commissioner in January 2007. She was appointed to the Energy Northwest Board of Directors in January 2009.

In 2013 she was elected as vice president of the Washington Public Utility District Association.

Ms. Thompson has a bachelor’s degree in sociology from the University of Oregon. She has worked in the social services field, educational testing and software customer support and training.

Ms. Thompson is active in community projects, serving on the boards of the Knappton Cove Heritage Center and Water Music Festival, and as coordinator for Jazz and Oysters.

She and her husband own Harmony SoapWorks, a small manufacturing company. Commissioner Thompson resides near Oysterville, Wash.
