Kalama power project open house Thursday

RICHLAND, Wash.  –  Energy Northwest is hosting a public open house in Kalama on Thursday, March 8 to share information on the Pacific Mountain Energy Center power plant planned for the Port of Kalama.

The open house will be held at the Kalama Community Center at 216 N. Elm Street (corner of Second and Elm) in Kalama. The doors will open at 5:30 p.m. with a presentation on the power project at 6 p.m.  The presentation will be repeated at 7 p.m. for those who can’t make the earlier time.

“The sole purpose of the open house is to provide area residents with a convenient opportunity to learn the details of the project and ask whatever questions they wish,” said Ted Beatty, PMEC Project Manager. “Our hope is that no one leaves the open house with unanswered questions.”

The open house is not part of the formal State permitting process for the facility. Energy Northwest is a not-for-profit public power agency comprised of 20 public power organizations throughout Washington.
