RICHLAND, Wash. – Energy Northwest’s Board of Directors unanimously elected four new officers in meetings here today.
Asotin County PUD Commissioner Judy Ridge was elected board president succeeding Ronald Hatfield, Pacific County PUD No.2 Commissioner. Ridge has been a member of the Energy Northwest Board of Directors since 2003 and was elected Assistant Secretary of the board in January 2005. She is co-owner of Ridge Property Management in Clarkston, Washington, which she and her husband manage.
Wahkiakum County PUD Commissioner Larry Reese was elected board vice president succeeding Kathy Vaughn, Snohomish County PUD Commissioner. Reese became a Wahkiakum County PUD Commissioner in 2003 and joined Energy Northwest’s Board of Directors in January 2005. He is currently serving as Vice President of the Wahkiakum PUD board. He spent much of his professional career with General Electric, where he held positions in the lamp and supply divisions. Mr. Reese and his wife reside in Cathlamet, Washington.
Benton County PUD Commissioner Lori Sanders was elected board secretary. She follows retired Grant County PUD Commissioner Vera Claussen. Commissioner Sanders became a Benton County PUD Commissioner and was appointed to the Energy Northwest Board of Directors in January 2005. She is the owner and president of Energy Incentives, Inc., a consulting firm with expertise in electricity conservation and renewable energy systems. Commissioner Sanders, her husband, Scott, and family reside in Kennewick, Washington.
Franklin County PUD Commissioner Bill Gordon was elected board assistant secretary succeeding Judy Ridge, newly elected board president. Commissioner Gordon became a Franklin County PUD Commissioner in January 2003. He was appointed to the Energy Northwest Board of
Directors in January 2004. In April 2006, he was elected by the Board of Directors to serve on Energy Northwest’s Executive Board. He resides in Pasco and is a former partner in Gordon Brothers Winery and Gordon Brothers Inc.
The Board officers will serve two-year terms, attending quarterly and special meetings. The BOD is made up of one representative from each of the 20 member public utilities of Energy Northwest. The Board has powers and duties that include final authority on any decision to purchase, acquire, construct, terminate or decommission any plants or facilities of Energy Northwest.
The Board of Directors also appoints five of its own members and three outside appointees to the Energy Northwest Executive Board.
Energy Northwest is a not-for-profit public power Joint Operating Agency formed under Washington law dedicated to providing electricity for the region’s ratepayer’s at-the-cost-of-production.
