RICHLAND, WASH. - David G. Remington attended his first meeting today as Energy Northwest’s newest Executive Board member. Former Governor Gary Locke appointed Mr. Remington to the Energy Northwest Executive Board in late December 2004. His term will run through June 30, 2008. Remington succeeds Margaret Allen, an attorney and former research analyst, whose term expired June 30, 2004.
Mr. Remington recently retired from his position as senior vice president and CFO of Spokane-based Itron, Inc., where he was responsible for all accounting, tax, finance, and mergers and acquisitions transactions for the public company, which provides hardware and software solutions used to optimize the delivery and use of electricity, natural gas, and water.
He has more than 35 years experience in finance, treasury, and investment banking services, including eight years as managing director at Dean Witter Reynolds. At Dean Witter Reynolds, Remington specialized in highly-structured private debt and equity transactions, including project financings. Before that, he was president of Steiner Financial Corporation. During his ten years there, he also held positions as executive vice president and vice president of finance.
Mr. Remington also serves on the Board of the Inland Northwest Science and Technology Center, a non-profit organization dedicated to establishing a science center in eastern Washington. He served as an officer in the Army Reserve, and holds an MBA from the Harvard Business School and a BS in electrical engineering from the University of California - Berkeley.
Energy Northwest’s Executive Board comprises 11 members: five elected from the Energy Northwest Board of Directors and six “outside” members. Outside members have no other formal association with Energy Northwest. Three are appointed by the board of directors and three are appointed by the governor of Washington.
