Discussed with Jerry the information he had on file (of which I made copies on August 28) on noxious weeds.  A letter was just received about knotweed.  Knotweed has not been seen on the project lands; however, Lewis County is concerned and a couple of weeks ago found plants in the area, down by the Cowlitz River.  There has been Scotch broom on project property; in the past they would use herbicide and pull; now they just pull the plant and haul the remains to the landfill station.  Scotch thistle has also been observed on the project; for control they spray herbicide and pull plants.  Parrotfeather has also been observed on the project; treatment consists of herbicide spray, pulling, and/or cutting off.  A brochure on common reeds was in his file; however, Jerry says that these have not been observed on the project.  Jerry attends Lewis County Weed Control workshops.
